In the wee hours of March 5th, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver KJ Osborn was riding in an Uber heading to his home in Austin, Texas, when he and the driver saw a vehicle that had crashed on the side of the expressway. The car had flames coming from under the hood, so the two men pulled over and rushed to check on the driver who was stuck in the vehicle.
With help from two other bystanders, they were able to pull the driver from his vehicle before it became completely engulfed in flames. Osborn later took to social media to tell the story of the harrowing incident. "Right Place Right Time. 💜“ he tweeted along with pics from the scene.
The NFL player had to explain to one of the other good Samaritans that their rescue was likely going to make the national news. “He didn’t know, like, much about football. I told him like, ‘You know, this is gonna be a big thing,’” Osborn explains. “‘We just helped save someone, that was huge.’”
