Jessie J is giving her "honest" take of 2025 as she prepares for the new year.
On Tuesday (December 30), the "Price Tag" singer shared a candid post to her Instagram Stories reflecting on the highs and lows, both in her career and in her personal life, from the past year, per People. The English artist, 37, revealed in June that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and has navigated balancing surgeries and recovery with her plans for touring.
"In a world full of 'everything is fine, I'm happy, I'm good, life is perfect' there is grief, hurt, pain, sadness, heartbreak and reflection and processing happening this time of year for many of us, alongside the good and great or on its own," she said. "This year has been heavy and hard in many ways for all of us. For me personally one of the hardest but most magical years of my life. Personally and professionally."
Jessie said that she has been "crying a lot" this week as "all the sadness" from the past year has resurfaced, causing her to feel "the lowest I have felt in a while." However, she explained that expressing those feelings help with healing.
"Don't hold it in people. We are not superhuman or meant to be happy and positive all the time," she said. "It's healthy and normal to cry, and if someone you love is crying don't say 'oh don't cry' say 'come here.' Sending love to anyone feeling this way too right now. No positive end to this. Just I'm with ya. It's s--- sometimes."
Jessie recently bonded with Kate Middleton over their shared cancer journeys, sharing a hug in an emotional moment at the Royal Variety Performance in November. She later revealed why she broke royal protocol to embrace the Princess of Wales and the importance of the special moment.
