8-year-old Carter Blanchard of Searcy, Arkansas was devastated to learn that he had vitiligo, a skin disorder that destroys the cells that make pigment in the skin. His mother Stephanie said he had lost all confidence and life was tough, but help came to the family in the form of 13-year-old Rowdy, a purebred black Lab living in Oregon who also has vitiligo.
Stephanie found a picture of Rowdy through Facebook and shared them with her son, who was so excited to see a dog that also had vitiligo! Viewers in Arkansas donated money to bring Carter and Rowdy together and their sweet meeting meant so much to both families.
Rowdy has been an advocate for vitiligo and has been helping children everywhere, and we love him for it!
