With teachers from Washington State’s Kent School District on strike, two local moms were concerned about the thousands of kids in the district who rely on free or reduced lunches. Jennifer Liggett Giampapa connected with Meg Heron and, with the help of some community partners, they threw together a program to distribute thousands of meals. They’ve committed to providing meals that can be picked up at multiple area elementary schools every day until the strike ends.
