A team of 30 medical professionals at UW Medical Center perform a rare mid-birth procedure to save a baby born with a condition preventing him from breathing on his own. When Lauren Sanford was 18 weeks pregnant, she learned that her baby had Pierre Robin sequence, a rare congenital birth defect that makes it nearly impossible to breathe. Baby Oliver underwent the successful mid-cesarean procedure and after future surgeries is expected to live a normal and healthy life.
