Teen Arrested For Making Threats Against Boston Gay Bars

Authorities in Boston arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly making threatening phone calls to two gay bars in Boston in early November.

Back on November 9, dbar received a threatening call, which was followed by a similar call to The Alley Bar. A manager at the latter said the caller threatened the establishment with gun violence. Thankfully, authorities were able to trace the call to a landline in Peabody, Massachusetts. As per ABC, the teenager, whose name has not been released, was arrested in Seabrook, New Hampshire, on Friday night. Interestingly enough, he had been wanted for outstanding warrants in juvenile court in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, for threats with serious public alarm and civil rights violations. He also had additional warrants out for charges in other counties.

"We stand united. We don't believe in intolerance. When we get a bigoted, intolerant phone call—we’re going to send that to the police department and hope they do their best to make sure they find this person," dbar owner Brian Piccini said in a statement after the call was received.

Boston Police are currently arranging for the teen's return to Massachusetts for his arraignment. In the meantime, both bars have stepped up security and no incidents have been reported since the calls.
