Jennifer Garner Had To Be Rescued After Getting Lost Kayaking In Sweden

Things did not go according to plan for Jennifer Garner and her daughter, Violet Affleck, during a mother-daughter trip to Sweden. While vacationing together in Stockholm, Jen and Violet decided to give kayaking a try. Their excursion quickly went sideways and the two had to be rescued after getting lost at sea. Yikes!

"On a pre-middle-school sneak away with my eldest...Did I get us lost in a kayak? Yes." Jen shared on Instagram. "Did we paddle as hard as we could for 100 hours and end up in a shipping lane? I’m afraid so. Did we have to be rescued? Yup."

The silver lining of the whole debacle is the gorgeous photo of the two kayaking as the sun sets around them. Getting lost at sea for the 'gram. We see you, Jen. JK, JK, but seriously, it's a stunning photo.

The mother-daughter duo were rescued by a man named Mattias, who also got photo credit on an A List celebrity's Instagram. The 46-year-old actress gave Mattias a second shoutout on her Instagram Story later on, as well, when she posted a selfie with him. She thanked him again for rescuing them, even calling him "our savior."

If anything, this whole incident just goes to show how talented of an actress Jen really is. She's set to make her return to her first series regular role since the action series Alias ended in 2006. Jennifer is set to star in  the HBO series Camping, which is set (you guessed it) at an outdoor campground. Only time will tell if the show, which debuts in October, features any kayaking scenes.

In all seriousness, though, we're so glad both Jennifer and her daughter are okay. It seems that their wayward kayaking adventure didn't put a damper on their vacation, either. Jen hashtagged #weloveyousweden on her post, so, alls well that ends well.
