Contestant On 'The Voice' Sheds Tears, Reveals Miley Cyrus Paid Her Rent

Miley Cyrus proved that she had a heart of gold when she stepped up to the plate to help Janice Freeman, one of her eliminated contestants on the latest season of The Voice, by putting her and her family up in a temporary apartment and paying the hopeful talent's rent on a permanent place for a whopping six months.

On New Year's Day, Freeman took to Instagram Live to share the emotional confession about "best friend" Cyrus. "Like I've said before, Miley, you are my dawg, like my best friend, and I will defend you to the bitter end," she explained. "When I say you got somebody that got your back, this woman blessed me to be able to move in. Do you understand?"

After her video went viral on Twitter, Freeman took to the social media platform to sound off on all the positive feedback to Cyrus' good deed. "Thank you ALL but she found us placement until we found permanent housing, gave me the deposit, covered me for 6 months so I can get on my feet!" she wrote. "@MileyCyrus you are one of my closest friends and what you did for me and my family Im praying GOD gives you the desire of your heart!"

Freeman was voted off during the November 28th episode of The Voice and, as you might have guessed, the elimination had Cyrus incredibly emotional and shedding tears of sadness. "You are a fighter, you are a warrior, you are a role model," the pop star told Freeman during the elimination hour.
