A Nebraska family is crediting their doorbell cam with alerting them to a fire near their home, saving their teenage son and their house. On April 21st, 18-year-old Austin Schlake was housesitting his family’s home when their doorbell camera alerted him to a fire in the field in front of the home. Video shows the teen calmly walking out the front door and calling 911 for help, and firefighters arriving moments later to contain the fire.
