Kidney Donors Climb Mt Kilimanjaro To Promote Living Organ Donation

Yesterday (March 10th) was World Kidney Day and a group of living kidney donors spent the day reaching the summit of Africa’s tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The hikers are all members of The Kidney Donor Athletes (KDA), an organization whose goal is to show that donating your kidney won’t keep you from leading an active life. "The purpose of this climb is to show people around the world that it’s possible to thrive on one kidney,” says KDA founder Tracey Hulick.
