Dolphin Stranded By Ida Rescued From Louisiana Pond

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, residents near Slidell, Louisiana, saw a dolphin in a residential retention pond. An expert says the dolphin likely came in through Lake Pontchartrain, an estuary connected to the Gulf of Mexico, and was pushed by the hurricane into a canal that led to the pond. Officials were able to rescue it after six days and release it back into the Gulf of Mexico.
