Grab the bread and milk...Alabama may be getting another round of winter weather.
A winter storm watch has been issued for much of north Alabama and though we have learned a lot from the January winter storm we wanted to give you a refresher course on what kind of emergency previsions we ALL should have available....just in case.
The group Ready Wisconsin - (the state averages about 47 inches of snow a year) - and some other resources - offer the following suggestions for your own emergency kit:
„h Warm clothing, to be used if you need to change
„h Non-perishable food (e.g. nuts, canned tuna, crackers, dry cereal, fruit cups)
„h A flashlight and extra batteries
„h Prescription medications
„h A fully-charged phone and phone charger
„h Ice scraper
„h Jumper cables
„h Extra gas
„h Battery powered radio
„h Cat litter, sand or rock salt to use for traction to get tires on the road
„h Bottled water
„h Diapers, other items needed for infants
„h Tissues and toilet paper
: If you do have to abandon your car, leave something with your name, phone number, address and destination in the window.
