Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy is retiring from the NFL. In a tweet, McElroy thanked the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Jets. McElroy says, "The future is bright and exciting things are on the horizon." Following a storied career at the Capstone, McElroy was selected by the Jets in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played in two games with New York in 2012, completing 19 of 31 passes for 214 yards one touchdown and one interception. McElroy spent last season on Cincinnati's practice squad.
